Cascadia Prescribed Fire Training Exchange (TREX)


2017 Application Period CLOSED

The objective of the 2017 two-week prescribed fire training exchange (TREX) programs in Central Washington is to facilitate peer-to-peer, experiential learning for prescribed fire professionals and others interested in advancing innovative tools to restore fire-adapted ecosystems. Participants will engage in hands-on training in the ecology of fire-adapted ecosystems, communications and community outreach, prescribed fire monitoring, operational assignments, prescribed fire use, and collaboration among a diverse array of participating individuals and organizations.

Training Dates: September 24th through October 6th, 2017.

Location: 'Base Camp' will be located in Plain, Washington. Participants will be traveling to burn sites located throughout Central Washington.

For Selected Applicants

Registration: Selected participants will receive a Registration Packet. Completion of the packet will guarantee your placement in the training.

Cost: The cost to participate is $500.00, due upon selection and acceptance to the program with the Registration Packet. Payment may be made via:
